Lthe Commission has proposed extending the suspension of the Stability Pact until the end of 2023 (the 3% deficit rule). A relief for France and Italy, but, among the Frugal, the question of a return to normal arises insistently. The Commission’s growth forecast for 2022, published on Monday, is sharply revised down, from 4% (before the invasion of Ukraine) to 2.4%… The Italian situation worries; recession is lurking.
