Monaco Boost, 9th Dec 2021, ZEXPRWIRE, Sustainable luxury brand Marli Dresses is collaborating with model and actress Victoria Silvstedt in their new collection named the Wild Life Collection. A long-time advocate of animal welfare, Victoria had always been passionate about nature and wildlife through her work. When she met Marli Dresses co-founder Liliya Tippetts and heard about her mission to make luxury eco-friendly, the two automatically clicked. Bonding over their shared social objectives, the two decided to combine their passions in a new line for Marli Dresses.
It took several months to find the right fabrics and colors that were flattering and at the same time reflective of nature. The resulting line includes pieces such as delicate beach coverups with bold animal prints, and high waisted wrapped silk miniskirts in a variety of eye catching colours.
The new line is extremely versatile in styling and can be worn on many occasions, from a relaxing day at the beach to a night out in the city. Flattering on every body type, the pieces are meant to accentuate the feminine curves, resulting in beautiful silhouettes, and adding an elegant touch to every outfit.
Marli Dresses is based between London and Monaco and Victoria jets around the world. At the time of creating the collection, Victoria was in breathtaking St. Barths, where she shot photos for the campaign. Here we have an exclusive preview of what this collection has in store.Â
We sat down with Marli Dresses co-founder Liliya Tippetts and Victoria Silvstedt to hear more about their collection.
Q: Liliya, what made you start Marli Dresses?
A: Marli Dresses started as an idea to bring sustainable luxury to the world. We create classic, timeless pieces that will be staples in any capsule wardrobe. By designing trans-seasonal, or seasonless, pieces, we intend to prolong the lifecycle of materials as they stay relevant for longer periods of time. Our dresses are designed to be used over the years, which will in the long run have significant environmental impacts.Â
Q: What was the idea behind working with Victoria Silvstedt in this new collection?
A: I strongly believe in women empowering women. Victoria has been a close colleague of mine and I highly admire everything that she has done from acting and modeling to being a businesswoman. Much of this resonates with myself as the founder of a fashion brand and I thought it was a must to work together!
Q: Tell us a little bit more about the collection.
A: Collaborating with a fashion icon like Victoria, we wanted to evoke strong femininity in our new collection. Femininity is much more than being soft. It is powerful and unapologetic. And this is what I wanted to show through our collection together. By combining sheer, flowing fabric with bold prints like cheetah, we were able to achieve this.
Q: Victoria, what were your visions going into the collection?
A: A lot of my vacation time is spent going to St. Barths. It’s a breathtaking island. Aside from the star-studded crowd and amazing restaurants, the island is known for its stunning beaches. Going there, it is almost impossible not to reconnect with nature, and where we come from The Wild Life Collection is inspired by just this. The colors we’ve used for our skirts are inspired by the crystal blue waters and tan sand beaches. Bold prints are inspired by the nature around us.
