As a 2019 graduate from Scottsdale Film and Theater, Phoenix-based creator, Jaron Ikner was set to embark on production for his first feature film, Magenta, backed in part by his alma mater. 2020 had different plans for Ikner as the pandemic hit, shutting down the school, in turn, his plans to create his thesis film. Left with the desire to create and no other viable option, Jaron decided to spend his stimulus checks on new camera equipment and began shooting short films throughout the summer. After asking for volunteers for help with one short film, in particular, members involved urged Ikner to create a full feature film. Hesitant at first, Ikner would go on to write a script in 10 days.
The Bond is written and directed by Jaron Ikner and was created with the help of his production company, Starstruck Multimedia LLC. Set in a pandemic stricken Phoenix, Arizona in the year 2025, two estranged brothers, Malcolm and Zion Waters, (Ashe Bridges, Roy Phillips) find themselves caught in the middle of an ongoing war between the omnipotent corporation, Dynamation, and the rebel alliance, T.U.R.N., led by Dee Campbell (Zion Monroe), after their mother is placed in quarantine from contracting the deadly Auroravirus. Shot entirely in Phoenix, Arizona, The Bond combines drama, tension, action, and a little comedy to build a complex world from the mind of Jaron Ikner. The Bond also features rising actress, Jasmine Delagado, and newcomer, Joey Rodriguez, as well as cinematography from Daniel Haynes.
The release of the new trailer kicks off a massive multimedia run from the Phoenix, Arizona-based artist, as he plans on releasing the subsequent soundtrack to The Bond, a novelization of the film, and a slew of content associated with his production company, Starstruck Multimedia LLC. The Bond Soundtrack is executive produced by Jaron Ikner and features some of the brightest stars out of Arizona including Marley B, Trahma, Penny The Great, Dela Preme, Adam Ramey of Dropout Kings, Cash Lansky, and more. The lead single, “Bonded For Life” by Jaron Ikner himself, is slated for a late March release. Set for a red carpet premiere in late April, The Bond is the first feature film production from Starstruck Multimedia LLC. The Arizona-based production company has already begun production on their second feature film, Magenta, returning to Ikner’s original plans before the pandemic, and is slated for a late 2022 release. Jaron has several films on the slate including Snowbirds and Nameless Horizon. As with Magenta, little is known about these films but expect to hear more from Jaron’s camp in the future.
