Un huge momentum, born on social networks from an alert tweet viewed four million times, has turned into a citizen mobilization to defend the century-old trees at the foot of the Eiffel Tower! This momentum was followed by a petition that collected 140,000 signatures in a few days asking to give up the felling of trees and concreting in classified wooded space. Ironically, Gustave Eiffel had taken the greatest care to preserve the existing trees, some of which are bicentennial, the very ones that, today, will find themselves condemned! A hashtag was born from this movement: #Auxarbrescoyens!
